Faruq Schieber, multi-media artist: Something I love about Chicago is the movement in the experience of living here. The contrast of flow with rigidity in the way the river and lake move in and against the steepness of downtown. The shifts in the way people move with the change of the seasons and so on. There are high and low tides in the feel of this place. I have and continue to draw with BIC black ink pens on drawing paper. The unpredictability of the way the ink will blot paired with the familiarity of the medium is for me, a comforting blend of new and old.
