This new series of works are based off of a pilgrimage I made to Mexico City to return my father’s ashes to his ancestral homeland during Dia de Los Muertos. The paintings and drawings are created from candid street photography captured during this process, as well as from old photos found among my dad’s belongings. This series is dedicated to Enrique Mejia and the experience of immigrants who travel back and forth between lands. ”No Soy de Aquí ni de Allá”.
