Austin Reilly (he/they) is a Chicago visual artist who works with oils, acrylics, pens, and digitally. Their abstract works explore how additive and subtractive processes precipitate to form pictures. Austin is interested in the interplay between destruction and creation, and the relationship between the image and the object. Through their work, they seek to understand how truth can be represented beautifully and honestly. They have participated in shows at Happy Gallery, Esquina, Southwest Creative Studio, and Soft Systems. They regularly publish zines.
