How something functions is best revealed by cutting it open and peering into all the cavities, corners, and folds. In my work, I use this philosophy of dissecting and presenting the viscera obtained as the basis of my practice. Using my work as a way of processing life, I work with trauma, the in-between, distortion, and the intersections that come from these themes. Through an interdisciplinary practice of painting and installation, I divide and rearrange images and models as the framework of my compositions. By going beyond the surface and using my observations gained from taking apart concepts and ideas, I explore beyond the boundary of traditional techniques. Slicing and compartmentalizing my realizations, my process involves thorough investigation of my personal biography and experience. This investigation involves peeling back the layers and organizing them into bodies and objects as a way of discovering the what, why, and how, presenting them in all stages of discovery.
