I'm David Villegas, I use he/him, they/them and elle pronouns. I have lived all my life in the Chicago area. This artwork is about the paradoxical relationship I have with my mom. Eros is said to have had sometimes troubles times with his mom, Aphrodite. I created this artwork which includes a blurred image of the basement where both me and my mom live. In the center is an image of the 2 signs of Pisces and Leo in a circle. My mom is Pisces and I am a Leo. We don't always agree on many things, we even get into petty arguments about the smallest things. But in the end, there's a love that bonds us together to care for one another. That's what I thought of when I created this artwork.
