CFAS opened their first exhibition in the Summer of 2022 featuring local Chicago painter and salon owner, Joe Sikora. Sikora’s work is a study of the clothed human figure in interior environments. Painting from life, the artist poses his subjects standing, sitting, and laying to express the individual personality and emotion of the subject. The lyrical quality of the model’s pose, accentuated by his or her relationship to the surrounding space, gives these paintings a poetic effect. With over 20 works displayed in the exhibition, Sikora’s show was a successful first exhibition.
