Innermost Tension
By Sammi Ohlson
Oil paint in frame 9” x 11”
I am a queer Chicago based artist, originally from Massachusetts. My work uses surrealism in color and environment with realism in anatomy and proportions to create an intimate and dreamlike image. I often explore themes of technology, emotion, love and sex. I use these themes to display the ways that we distract ourselves from pain in our everyday lives. My aim is to create a reality that borrows from our subconscious. I paint and collage with mixed media.
