I am inspired by the beauty and magic of my small Chicago urban garden, especially the flock of chickens that our family adopted during Covid quarantine, which has continued to grow and delight. Having a natural sanctuary in a busy city like Chicago has provided a wealth of source materials for drawings and oil paintings that continue to evolve and develop through the seasons and as things grow. Keeping me rooted in the present joys of life and nature, urban gardening also connects us to the past and provides perspective for simple pleasures.
