Man Defeated
By Katriel Recepcion
An attempt to capture the beauty and vibrancy of a rather dreary scene. I initially understood the model’s pose to exude defeat and somber, but there was a simultaneous quiet grace in his rest. Rest, as an action, often becomes overlooked, neglected or sacrificed in many societies. When our bodies can handle only so much, rest is inevitable. The subject experiences those consequences and is placed in a warm light as a result.
