From Childhood

By Olha Fedoruk

Each work of art must have an impulse for its appearance. There should be a certain amount of energy that causes a great desire to be realized in the form, in line, in plastic, in the composition. The life with all its manifestations becomes such an impetus. Great inspiration for my creative works are music and the poetry of my favorite composers and poets.

But the first and foremost are the different life situations, which I feel like to comprehend , to feel and to transmit on the canvas, on the paper or other materials. While studying at Ivan Trush Lviv College of Decorative and Fine Arts and later at Lviv National Academy of Arts I tried to express myself through the ceramics, the graphics, the painting. I had preferred the painting with acrylic and tempera paints on the canvas, on the cardboard ,on the wood. It is the technique that allows me to achieve the most desired effects, linear, color, light-shadow. The line appears first, then plane appears. Line and plane dictate their shape, plastic and color. The issues of harmony or disharmony, the issues of light, combination of color, shape, their harmonization and the creation of a coherent composition are solving during the creative process. The leading idea of my works is search for answers to the Eternal questions, that concern humanity. It is also my desire to convey the incredible beauty of our Universe and our planet through the prism of my worldview, and attempt to fly into other worlds, that are as real as ours.
