Marie Magnetic (she/her/hers) is a painter, poet, and mixed media artist based in Chicago. Her practice focuses on examining dystopia, detachment, and delusion in society. Marie views the world from a psychological perspective and aims to use social movements as a lens for change. This art is meant to invoke conversation about human rights and for audiences to challenge societal norms and to better understand themselves. Through her art practice, Marie aims to examine feminism, equity, liberation, and anti-racism, along with speaking out against injustice and oppression. It is Marie’s hope that she may teach others to think about the world differently, challenge preconceived notions, and inspire a greater understanding of what it means to be an informed citizen.
