"The Venus of Rokeby Park" by Jacob Darner

$350.00
Only 1 available

620 Film

15’’ by 15’’

$350

Jacob Darner is a 26 year old, multi-disciplinary artist based out of Marquette, MI. In his spare time Jacob enjoys the outdoors - whether it's hiking through the woods or paddleboarding around Lake Superior in the summer, watching soccer, and absorbing lots of TV and media.
Jacob is an artist who makes the viewer feel they are part of an intimate moment - dancing between film, digital photography, and sketches - sometimes blending them into one concoction. His muse? Mother nature, humans, art history, and raw emotions.
His portraiture is generally introspective or inspired by art history/pop culture - relying on turn of phrase or relatability to showcase being human in a way that is almost surreal or beautiful.
His illustrations usually work the same way, oftentimes using the same turn of phrase to convey meaning literally through the piece. For Jacob, everything is as you see it at surface value, meaning there is nothing he's trying to hide. It is what it is, and he just hopes you see the same beauty or tragedy in the world and life.
