Acrylic on Canvas

30’’ by 40’’

In my painting practice, I explore identity, belonging, and the ever-shifting idea of who we are. Influenced by nature’s adaptability and impermanence, my work examines the tension between the intrinsic self and the shaping forces of family, culture, and place. I build surreal dreamscapes—filled with bold color, tangled lines, and impossible spaces—that reflect the push and pull between safety and vulnerability, rootedness and transience. Water-warped color alongside crisp figures captures the dualities of softness and hardness, hope and sorrow, allure and repulsion. These imagined environments offer a space to map the self in flux—where stability meets uncertainty, and longing meets transformation. Through them, I invite viewers to consider their own internal landscapes and what it means to belong—whether to a place, a memory, or a version of themselves.
