The body of this work consists of portraits with icons and images undulating around the individual depicted.  These paintings depict the love and joy of each individual’s personality.  This artwork is a collaboration between Cesar Conde and myself.

I believe I can speak for both Cesar and I, these paintings are an exciting new adventure, which has reinvigorated our skills and desire to produce art.  Combining our forms and techniques with the subject matter has assembled an incredible series of art that reveals the portrait visual description in a new dynamic fashion for both of us.

It is no small thing for Cesar to hand over his portraiture to me without knowing what it will look like when he receives it back.   I get so excited to create “visual riot” on the paintings I forget the level of trust it takes for an artist to relinquish their creation for assimilation.

The vibrato of Cesar’s work with the fantastical personalities of the subjects guides the tone of the symbols I choose and the forms I fashion.  The flow of these works creates a surreal environment that engages the imagination of each person enjoying the art.
