I am a life-long (48 years) painter and visual artist based in the Chicago area. Primarily self-taught, I work mostly with oils, but sometimes explore watercolor, ink, and experimental photography. My work could be described as magic realism; themes borrowed from reality, and sometimes presented like a movie still. Spurred by an early interest in Super-8 film and cinematic special effects, I studied Industrial Design Technology at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the late 1990’s. However, it was around this time that I went in a different direction and began focusing on developing and expanding upon the discipline of oil painting. Since then, my paintings have been exhibited and collected worldwide.
