Faruq Schieber

Faruq Schieber, Artist: There is a feeling about the permanence of pen to paper, an awareness that the best outcome is one based on intention. Though grounded in simplicity, each pairing of the two will take on varying textures to the point of that intention. This makes the small surprises along the way all the more captivating.

In my work, I use BIC pens and a variety of different drawing papers, primarily because they were the first things I ever picked up. It’s a joy to continue to ask myself, “Wait, can I do that with a pen?”
