"How I Remember It" by Margot Sappern
Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
18’’ by 18’’
Having spent much of my adult life living in a variety locations in the US, Europe and Asia, I'm fascinated by the energy of places. My abstract landscapes are inspired by memory and emotion. Working in acrylics, I explore the tension between control and spontaneity, layering vivid color, gesture and texture. Each canvas becomes a snapshot of a moment in time. My current studio is located in Chicago's Cornelia Arts Building.
