Ximena Lopez Urquizo, 1994 (@xlu.art) is an emerging peruvian artist. Painting from a very young age, being the daughter of a recognised plastic artist from Peru and having studied different courses focused on anatomical drawing, painting and sculpture in the city of Lima, she decides to professionalize her technique by traveling to the city of Barcelona in 2022 to study drawing and painting in the reowned school of figurative art: Barcelona Academy of Arts 'BAA'. In Barcelona, she managed to participate in her first collective art exhibition of Surrealism at the well-known -Toolip Art Gallery - Barcelona. In mid-2023, she returned to the city of Lima and joined the Association of Visual Artists of Peru 'ASARVIPE', with whom she participated in multiple art exhibitions in reputed galleries and museums in the capital. In February 2024, she inaugurated her first individual exhibition "Spirits on the Orb" at Martín Yepez Gallery, in the historic center of Lima. She relates imaginary scenarios in her brushstrokes, with a visible approach to figurative art between animals, people and ancient sculptures, where she seeks to create surreal and existentialist paintings, about emotions, love and the cycle of life, in imaginary colorful worlds. Seeking to fill with color, fluidity and symbolism.
